What is a retractable banner?

A retractable banner is a type of stand in which a banner pulls up and out of an aluminum base and attaches to a pole for easy display. To transport it, the banner simply detaches from the pole and retracts back into the base. Retractable banners are the #1 most popular display as they are easy to set up and transport. In addition, they take up minimum space and require only a small footprint, making them ideal for trade shows, expos, and lobbies with limited space.

Can you tell me more about the retractable banner’s material?

PET is a high-quality banner material that’s durable and works well with the retraction system of retractable banners. Unlike scrim vinyl, PET vinyl allows for a perfectly smooth surface that provides a high-end, premium finish for your artwork.

Why are these only printed on one side?

Due to the way they’re displayed, standard retractable banners only print one-sided. However, if you’re looking for a double-sided display, please check out our double-sided retractable banners.

What's the difference between retractable banners, rollup banners, and pullup banners?

These are interchangeable terms used to describe the same product. While the technical term is retractable banner, customers often refer to them as pullup banners or rollup banners because of how they are set up and displayed.

What's the most common retractable banner size?

At U.S. Press, we offer three standard retractable banner sizes: 33" x 78", 45" x 78", and 57" x 78". The most common size is 33" x 78" and costs just $99 for the complete banner and stand unit. When most people think of retractable, or roll up banners, they picture the 33" x 78". However, our 47" x 78" and 57" x 78" are great for wider display areas that will really stand out at a trade show.

How should I care for my retractable banner?

When displaying and taking down your retractable banner, it's important to do so carefully as the retracting mechanism is delicate. Slowly pull out and retract the graphic in and out of the base. If the banner is rapidly retracted or snapped back into the base, the stand can be permanently damaged and unable to use. Carefully install the pole to the base and top of the graphic. Mishandling or mistreatment of the pole may cause permanent damage which renders the banner unusable.

Can I order just a stand without the banner?

At this time, we only offer retractable banners as a complete unit that includes both the banner and stand.

Can I order just a replacement graphic for a stand I already have?

At this time, we only offer retractable banners as a complete unit that includes both the roll up banner and stand.

How much does the storage case cost?

Retractable banners are printed on PET no-curl banner vinyl, which is a premium, smooth vinyl material with a slightly glossy appearance. PET vinyl offers an elegant, professional look to all your banner displays.

Document size: Same size as final trim size of piece

Bleed: Set your bleed to 1" on all sides

Safe Area: Set your margins to 1.25" and keep all important elements (logos, text, and images that do not bleed) within these margins

Resolution: 100 PPI for all images is strongly recommended for best print quality

Proofing: After you place your order and upload your artwork, our prepress team will begin inspecting your files to ensure your document size, bleed lines, margins, image resolution, and more are correct in order for the best print quality. They will email you a soft proof (PDF) for your approval prior to printing. Most proofs are sent within 1 business day of order placement; more complex art files can sometimes take longer. Soft proofing is an easy way to see what your finished product will look like and make sure the content is correct. However, soft proofing is not intended for exact color matching. Every monitor displays color differently, and on backlit screens, colors may appear lighter than the actual colors contained in your files. If color matching is critical, please give us a call at 800-227-7377 to order a hard proof.

Production Time: Production time begins after proof approval and is the time required to produce your order before it ships. It is calculated in business days, starting at the next occurrence of 9:00 AM Eastern on the 1st business day after the proof is approved. U.S. Press is closed Saturdays, Sundays and all major holidays; thus, these days are not included in the production schedule.

Shipping Transit Time: Once production is complete, your order will ship out via the shipping method you select at checkout. All of our orders ship from our location in Valdosta, Georgia. The transit map below shows expected transit time from our plant in Valdosta to your location based on FedEx Ground shipping. Alternatively, you can select an expedited shipping method (FedEx Express Saver - 3 business day transit), FedEx 2nd Day Air (2 business day transit), or FedEx Overnight Standard (1 business day transit).
