EDDM Postcards FAQ

What is the difference between EDDM postcards and regular postcards?
While the postcards themselves are the same, our EDDM Postcards are intended for Every Door Direct Mail, which is a service by the Post Office. EDDM Postcards must meet specific size requirements in order to be mailed through Every Door Direct Mail. Our EDDM postcard sizes meet the requirements set forth by the Post Office.

Where can I learn more details about EDDM itself?
Check out our guide on EDDM.

Why should I choose EDDM Postcards?
Every Door Direct Mail is a great program by the U.S. Postal Service that allows local businesses to cost-effectively send direct mail. You don't have to have a mail list as EDDM will be sent to every household on a route you choose, and postage is only 19.1 cents per piece.

How are EDDM postcards mailed?
U.S. Press will print your postcards for you and will bundle them in sets of 100s, which is required by USPS. If instead you have a mail list with recipient names and addresses, check out our standard business postcards where we offer complete direct mail services to your personalized list. We will then ship you your postcards, where you will take them to the Post Office to have them mailed. You must fill out USPS paperwork prior to mailing. For more information, visit USPS's EDDM website here.

EDDM postcards are printed on your choice of 130# gloss cover or 100# gloss cover with gloss UV coating on the front for a beautiful finish and vibrant colors. 130# gloss cover is a heavy cover stock whereas 100# gloss cover is a lighter weight, more economical cover stock. Our UV coating provides protection against damage. You cannot write on products with UV Coating.

Uploading files: You can upload files directly to this product page by clicking "Upload Your File & Order Now". Or, if you prefer to send your files a different way, you can send files here.

If you need any help with creating your print ready artwork, please give us a call at 800-227-7377 or email us at info@uspress.com.

Proofing: After you place your order and upload your artwork, our prepress team will begin inspecting your files to ensure your document size, bleed lines, margins, image resolution, and more are correct in order for the best print quality. They will email you a soft proof (PDF) for your approval prior to printing. Most proofs are sent within 1 business day of order placement; more complex art files can sometimes take longer. Soft proofing is an easy way to see what your finished product will look like and make sure the content is correct. However, soft proofing is not intended for exact color matching. Every monitor displays color differently, and on backlit screens, colors may appear lighter than the actual colors contained in your files. If color matching is critical, please give us a call at 800-227-7377 to order a hard proof.

Production Time: Production time begins after proof approval and is the time required to produce your order before it ships. It is calculated in business days, starting at the next occurrence of 9:00 AM Eastern on the 1st business day after the proof is approved. U.S. Press is closed Saturdays, Sundays and all major holidays; thus, these days are not included in the production schedule.
